A girl was hacked to death by her father, in a village near Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. The police reported that the crime was committed on Friday night and that her lover also met with the same fate.

The police have since arrested the girl’s father, who works as a truck driver. Pawan Gautam, the Ghatampur Police Circle officer said that the axe used to hack the girl and her lover was recovered.

Pawan Gautam then went on to say that the 16-year-old girl was having an affair with a 15-year-old boy, who was from the same village as her. She had invited him over to her house when her parents had gone to attend a relative’s marriage in the neighbouring Banda district.

However, both of them were caught by the girl’s uncle, who then locked them up inside the house. He then informed his brother, the girl’s father, about the incident over the phone.

Soon, the girl was hacked to death by her father when he returned home. Her lover too was hacked to death with an axe by him.

“The body of the girl was found in a village. She was hacked to death with an axe,” Superintendent of Police Ankit Mittal informed. Her nephew was taken to the hospital, but he didn’t survive.
