Rose shadowbanned? Numerous fans of K-pop group Blackpink’s member Rose have alleged that the singer’s Instagram account is being “shadowbanned”. Rose had recently announced that her solo debut project will release on March 12. She gave fans a peek into her debut at the band’s live stream concert, The Show, in January.

Several fans have expressed concern on Twitter that Rose, very close to her solo debut, is being subjected to “shadowbanning” a practice for which there is no confirmation from the social media platform.

“Hello, @instagram! We’ve noticed that Rosé’s Instagram account (roses_are_rosie) has been shadowbanned. Can you please look into it and fix? She is about to start her solo promotions and that is the only personal account she uses. Thanks in advance!” tweeted one of her fans.

Another fan tweeted, “Let’s talk about what’s going on right now. Rosé’s Instagram is shadow banned. We know something has been going for the past few days and now we see the results of what’s been done. Certain stans created gcs to spam Rosé and stop her follower counts. Anyways, let’s focus on ROSÉ.”

Apparently, Shadowbanning is a practice in which a platform limits the reach and visibility of a user. Head of Instagram Adam Mosseri had declined the existence of any such practice in 2019, saying, “If someone follows you on Instagram, your photos and videos can show up in their feed if they keep using the feed.”

Earlier on January 25 this year, Rose, whose full name is Roseanne Park, had shared a 30-second teaser for a “solo project” that stands at over 38 million views. Blackpink’s label, YG Entertainment, had previously said that all four group members would embark on solo projects. Rose’s solo debut comes after that of band member Jennie in 2018.
